Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
Year 6 pupils have produced string art trees as part of our ‘Make Do and Mend’ for our WW2 topic. The children have worked extremely hard creating them and they have spent well over an hour making each one (hammering the nails in; creating the string pattern; and sticking on the pom poms). These will be available for sale at the school fayre on Thursday for £3.
We have already had some children wanting to make sure that they can buy their picture. If parents want to buy their child’s picture (the pictures are all numbered and the children should know what number they are), we are happy for them to send in the money and we will put the picture to one side for them.
As almost a quarter of 12-15 year olds say they don’t know how to control who can see what they post on social media, Thames Valley Police is encouraging parents, carers and responsible adults, such as youth activity leaders, to help young people stay safe online, as part of the latest phase of the #ProtectYourWorld campaign.
Join their Facebook Live Q&A event on Tuesday 6 February at 6.30pm, when experts from Thames Valley Police and the NSPCC will be answering questions and giving useful tips to enable parents to help their children stay safe online.

SICKNESS
We are aware that there is a high level of concern amongst parents about absence due to the latest sickness bug circulating in Brackley. We can assure you that we take very seriously any incidents of sickness within the school. We have previously advised parents that they should not allow their children to return to school until a minimum of 24 hours after the last bout of sickness & diarrhoea, however in light of NHS guidelines we are going to increase this to a minimum of 48 hours. As always no child should return to school before they are well, regardless of the minimum time, and never before they are eating & drinking properly.
Below is the link to NHS Guidelines with advice about the treatment of sickness & diarrhoea:

Thank you for your ongoing cooperation.

This year Brackley C of E Junior School decided to participate in ‘No pens day Wednesday’. No Pens Day Wednesday is a national speaking and listening event organised by The Communication Trust. The Communication Trust aims to raise the profile of effective communication. Of all the skills we develop at school, the ability to communicate effectively is the one that has the most profound and potentially positive impact on our lives. Communication is at the core of what we do: at home, in work, at school and socially. Strong language skills and good communication are key to children reaching their full potential. One of our Y4 classes have shared their pictures from the day:-
"We found ingenious ways to create the answers to the maths problems!
We used: multi-link cubes, rice, dienes squares and even shaving foam to write our answers. We were very creative."
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
