Access from the main pedestrian entrance to the school requires development to assist users with mobility impairments. Slopes are uneven and footpaths steep cambers, both provide a barrier to persons with visual and mobility impairment. Signage for persons requiring assistance should be displayed close to the entrance door to Reception.

There is provision currently for disabled drivers although this is of insufficient size to enable easy transfer from vehicle to wheelchair.

Steps provide access to school field. Handrails are not present. A significant part of the playground is adjacent and at the top of a steep slope descending toward the school buildings. A physical barrier segregating playground and slope is essential for the safety of users with mobility and vision impairments.

In many places edges posing a trip hazard and are not marked with contrasting paint, renewal is needed in some places.

Good contrast between frames and doors exist on most external doors. Internal doors present a timber effect within a white frame. The application of a contrasting colour tape or paint scheme to the frames would assist users.

A disabled toilet exists but the end wall, and toilet seat should be in a contrasting colour to assist users. The entrance door has no disabled toilet signage.

Some accommodation is at second floor level. This is unlikely to be accessible to wheelchair users without significant and costly modification.

The open stairwell configuration also poses a barrier to users with vision impairment. Specifically the back of the stairs are of an open design for two thirds of their width making it difficult for users to distinguish each stair.

The school hall has a good access from both classrooms and via one external exit. It is provided with both a visual and auditory fire alarm. The remainder of the school is equipped with auditory alarms only.

Classrooms are limited in size, considerable thought would need to be given to accommodating persons with mobility impairment in order to allow ease of movement and so as not to present a Health and Safety hazard to other users
